Part 1 - Jesus As A Boy Growing Up
Long before there were people, before it was even on the planet or the sun or the stars, God was God has always been and always will be God Never has there been a time when God was not a life, and never will be, when not a resident. We say that God is eternal. This means that he never had a beginning, and he never stops. Jesus is the Son of God He is also eternal. The Bible, when you see the "Word" is another name of Jesus, beginning with a capital because it is the right name. God made the Bible was written to tell us of his love, the Bible is called the Word of God.
Jesus came to show us what God is as He is called the Word. When you call Jesus, the Word, we mean it, which is eternal, and which became the word of God shows his heart for people.
Have you ever wondered about Jesus as a boy if he knew what it was like to run and play games, go to school and work to do at home? Sometimes a boy or girl does not have a mother or father on his own or to be separated from his family, but God gave him with others to care for him so that makes their family.
Mary and Joseph took baby Jesus in Bethlehem, a place to live. While living there, the wise men saw the star in the east and had come a long way found them and brought rich gifts. Joseph was a poor man, and these gifts were God's provision for the care of Mary and her young son. God told Joseph in a dream that the evil King Herod tried to kill the baby, and should take Mary and baby Jesus to Egypt where he would be safe.
The Bible does not tell us how long they were there, but it could have been for many years. Jesus was no longer a baby, but a good kid, playing in the sun and brown and hard. After the evil king has died, an angel came to Joseph again, and said it was safe to return to their land. So the family took the long journey back to the land of Palestine. They settled in the city of Nazareth, where he had lived before.
The House of Nazareth was a poor where everyone contributed. We know that the brothers were born in the family (Mark 6:3) if there was a difference. The brothers had the same mother, Mary, but he was the father of Joseph. Both Mary and Joseph knew and could not forget that Jesus was the Son of God and sent to a particular purpose.
There were at least four brothers and two sisters, so it was a big family. Jesus was Big Brother, and no doubt he spent many hours after the little ones in your home. There were schools that are associated with synagogues, where the boys have learned from the writings of the Old Testament. The Sabbath day they went to the synagogue to worship and classes, something like our Sunday school today.
Joseph was a carpenter, and Jesus spent many hours learning to work with wooden hands. When he was a grown man, people sometimes called him a carpenter, Mark 6:03. So you can see his life, he grew up was the same as our problems - family, school, friends, work, play, church. The Bible tells us very little about these growing years, but it helps to know that Jesus grew up on how the other guys are on the rise, only this difference, Luke 2:40 says: "The child grew and waxed strong spirit, full of wisdom and the grace of God was upon her.
