Learn To Effectively Read The Bible - Why Was Jesus Born Jew?

From the beginning, God had decided to work primarily with the descendants of Seth, rather than the descendants of Cain. This continued until the time of Noah, when almost everyone had turned away from God and had lost interest.

So God has chosen to work with the descendants of Noah to the new many were turned away. Thus, God chose a man called Abraham and promised to work through his descendants.

Abraham lived about 4,000 years ago in a place called "Ur of the Chaldees." Today's terms would be Ur, in southern Iraq, about 100 miles (160 km) north-west of the Kuwaiti border.

God commanded Abraham to pack up and go to a land that would show it packed up and went to the land of Canaan, which is the day of modern Israel. God told him to look east, west, north and south, and walk through it, because one day give him and his descendants and descendants in particular.

Abraham had a son named Isaac, the God of Isaac, repeated these promises. Isaac had a son named Jacob (whose name was Israel) and God reaffirmed his promise to him. Jacob (Israel) had twelve sons, who became known as the twelve tribes of Israel who is the father of the Jewish race as we know it today.

God has continued to work with the Jewish race, until Jesus Christ came on the scene. He was the descendant special that everyone expected. So you see that it was important that he was a Jew simply because God had chosen to work with the Jewish race, or descendants of Abraham.

Since the death of Jesus Christ, God has chosen to work with all people of all nations. The gospel was preached to the Gentiles or "no Jews". He continues to do so to this day, and invited us all to be part of the promise he gave to Abraham and other promises as well. All these things are clearly revealed in the Bible, so I invite you to take a look.
